matched pair of the now quite scarce Triad HS 66  transformers from late 60s / early 70s era. Fully tested, perfect stereo pair. Guaranteed safe arrival, no DOA. Gleaming original paint, with sturdy and straight gold plated pins.  The HS-66 is Triads refined successor to the older design HS 56, and possesses the same audio performance and ratings, in an even smaller potted, sealed case (62mm x 40mm x 33mm). Their size is easy to deal with, and will fit with ease into cabinets and cases, in compact areas, perfect for hifi and recording, and line isolation / smoothing between gain stages.

Both of these models (the larger 56/56V and the 66, are famously considered among of the best line to line, and line to output transformers ever made. These are 1960s military and commercial cinema grade.  The HS series typically received the highest level of audio shielding, more than most other potted transformers, these HS 66 feature Triad's P-1 level of shielding + plus they were rated for static, layer of Nickel alloy, rated at up to 45db noise reduction.

Decidedly better than most, and equivalent to the best, most expensive models … from even their top competitors of the time, including Peerless and UTC. Removed from NOS audio equipment many years ago. Gleaming original paint, with only a few nicks from storage. All printed letters and pinouts are legible. Triad was once one of the top 3 revered USA transformer manufacturers. Their HS series were used in on countless famous HiFi, Cinema and Recording studio preamps. These are from the late 1960s, still tube centric era. A very nice looking and wonderful functioning, matched performance pair, in every way I could see.

Over the years, the HS 66, and larger form 56 series has been favored by many audiophiles for use between line stages, for both isolation and smoothing. It's one of the best matching/bridging transformers ever made in it's size (about (62mm x 40mm x 33mm)) and with an exceptionally HiFi friendly (spec'd by Triad at 10hz to over 30,000hz) frequency response rating. It features "P1" shielding, a nickel alloy treatment, rarely seen in other makes; that was rated to reject noise / interference up to 45db.

Sincerely overbuilt, beyond even typical 1950s industrial, recording and broadcast standards. Triad Transformer Corp, got their start in the late 1930s, California USA. By the 1940s, they were supplying the then busy Sound on Film business, then centered in Hollywood. Many of the highest quality builders used Triad -- including Westrex (the Sound on Film and Export division of Western Electric), Langevin and later the busy HiFi industry of the 1950s.

The HS 66 is an extremely versatile transformer, able to act -- depending on application, as a line level bridging, matching, for some cases input (see photos for impedance selections). They have many HiFi and recording audio uses -- starting with a LoZ friendly 62.5 ohms, then line level and bridging  150, 250 and 600 ohms, these selections on mirrored on both Primary and Secondary sides.

Excellent today for collectors, audiophiles and recording professionals. Triad were expensive and are premium quality. The HS 56V has premium shielding and are well documented line input, bridging, isolation and smoothing -- They're a good choice -- highly regarded for the for reliably top notch sound -- Study your application carefully before purchase -- if these are right for you, they’ll serve very well and look great in any serious HiFi project.
