A seldom seen pair of the real British production Brimar ECC88 / 6DJ8 / 6922 tubes from the 1960s. Both tubes test very strong (see reports below) and have well matched triode sections. They have straight., sturdy pins and nice white ink, both tubes have BVA markings (British Valve Association). One tube has a faint Military code below ink marks. 

Brimar was a much smaller, very well regarded tube company in England -- generally most active in the HiFi era of the late 1940s thru early 1970s --after that, you don't see much of them. They, like all manufacturers rebranded and repackaged tubes -- and they also manufactured quite a few audio types, making them standout's of note. In addition to that, Brimars are highly praised in the sound quality arena, matching and sometimes beating even the best Mullards. By thr 1970s -- like many tube names, they had outsourced most produciton -- so watch out for newer offerings -- there are Russian Brimars that are known to be floating about online.  

These are out of 40 years' storage, and will be a score if you're after trying high quality British variants of the 6Dj8 / 6922! They should make for very interesting flavor change from Mullards, Amperex or Telefunken and they are certainly much tougher to come by (at least these authentic BVA's),

 Internal construction (large A frame type) and appears quite different from Mullard or Amperex. Glass envelope is smooth top and flashing is very mirror- like.  

Tests made on Lab standard, calibrated Amplitrex AT 1000 computer tester.

No microphonics, super clean and testing strong. Good letters. 

Will be carefully packed in old unmarked tube boxes.
